If you're looking for a better way to educate your teenager about spending, credit, and how debt works, this free after-school program could be for you.

Girls Inc. in Fort Smith was one of the lucky beneficiaries for funding that has gone toward a new program that helps young women become savvy with their money.

Amanda Daniels, with Girls Inc., said that program is called the Investing Divas program, for young women ages 12-18.

The program isn't just over the course of a weekend. It's a 10 week long program.

"It will start small. Checking and savings accounts. Then, they will end up managing a virtual portfolio, and trade stocks and mutual funds by the end of it," Daniels said.

All 10 sessions will last 45 minutes. The courses will begin at 4:30 p.m., designed to be an after school program.  Sessions will be held weekly on Tuesdays.

The first session will be held Tuesday, Jan. 15.

To sign up your teenager, call Girls Inc. at 479-782-0375.
