Man On Probation Claims Too Drunk To Remember Sex With Girl
A Fayetteville man on probation says he was too drunk to remember having sex with a 14-year-old girl over the weekend.
Peter Alvarez, 26, was arrested Sunday on suspicion of fourth-degree sexual assault. He remained Tuesday in the Washington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
Police said Alvarez had sex with a teenage girl over the weekend. The girl was supposed to stay at a friend’s house, but left with Alvarez and his brother, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
The alleged victim’s mother located the teenager at Alvarez’s home and took her home. The girl later told her mother she had consensual sex with Alvarez while at his home. The mother called police.
Investigators interviewed Alvarez, who told police he did not remember anything because he was too drunk. He woke up to find his clothes removed at the time, Alvarez told police.
“Alvarez also said that’s what happens when you drink too much,” the preliminary report states.
Alvarez is on parole for a drug conviction from 2010. He was also arrested in 2012 in connection with domestic abuse.
