A Springdale man accused Sunday of trying to run over his ex-wife and two small children was released from jail Wednesday morning.

Carlos Rosales, 31, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, driving while intoxicated and careless driving. He was released Wednesday from the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said Rosales crashed his silver sports utility vehicle into a parked car Sunday on Shelby Avenue shortly after trying to run his family over.

Rosales is accused of attempting to run over his ex-wife and children, ages 3 and 1, as he left the parking lot at Aldi’s on South Thompson Street. Police were then called about a rollover accident 22 minutes later on Shelby and officers determined that the SUV involved in the accident was the same one that attempted to run over the woman and two children.

Rosales was taken to Northwest Medical Center with minor injuries before being taken to jail, police said.
