It's two in a row for a Sebastian County sixth grader.

Vinny Nguyen correctly spelled "hiatus" to take home the trophy at the Sebastian County Spelling Bee for the second consecutive year. He outlasted more than 30 contestants during the competition, which lasted more than two hours.

Nguyen said it was repetition and discipline that helped him make it through.

My dad would put in words on a Web site that would teach me how to do it," Nguyen said. "And, if I missed a word, I would study it again. And then I would do the whole list over."

You can catch all the fun from today's competition when it airs Saturday on KNXW 34. It will be broadcast from noon to 1 p.m. and again from 3 to 4 p.m.
