Car Thief Arrested After Filling Out Church Visitor Card
A Bentonville man is facing several charges, including a felony charge of criminal mischief, after police said he stole a car from a church parking lot.
Joshua Tippie, 28, was arrested Sunday morning by Bentonville police, who tracked him down because he filled out a visitor’s card at Radiant Life Church. A church member said the man stole her car keys and then her car, police said.
Tippie was arrested when a Bentonville officer responded to an unrelated call Sunday. When other officers arrived, police said Tippie punched the hood of a police car.
Tippie faces charges of criminal mischief, theft of property, third-degree assault and resisting arrest, the police said. No bond amount has been set, according to the Sheriff’s Department website.
