Sex Offender Arrested in Springdale

A registered sex offender was arrested after he allegedly showed pornographic images on his phone to a young girl Sunday.

Jason Hicks, 31, of Smackover, Ark., was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a police report states.

Hicks had been staying in Springdale for about three weeks and not notified authorities, according to police. He was later charged with failing to register as a sex offender.

Officers responded to an address on Theodore after Hicks’ girlfriend called police.

Hicks was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he remains on bond.
