Arkansas freshmen pitchers Colin Poche and Adam Meyer were arrested on suspicion of shoplifting Sunday afternoon at a Fayetteville Walmart.

Each player was released Sunday evening on a $565 bond.

According to the preliminary arrest report from Fayetteville District Court, Poche and Meyer tried to steal two cases of beer, along with sandwiches from the deli.

Meyer assumed a “look-out position” as Poche took the two cases of beer and put them in a tote bag in their cart, the report states.

The two left the store without attempting to purchase the items, according to the report.

Poche was a fifth round pick in the 2012 MLB draft, but chose to attend Arkansas instead of signing with the Baltimore Orioles.

Both are scheduled to appear in Fayetteville District Court on March 1.

A call to the University Athletic Department seeking comment was not returned.

Arkansas starts practice this Friday. The season begins Feb. 15.
