Traffic Stop Nets 54 Pounds of Pot

Two California men were arrested on drug charges in Washington County Sunday during a traffic stop.

A deputy stopped a vehicle on U.S. Highway 412 for speeding, according to a police report.

A K-9 sniffed the vehicle and indicated there were drugs in the vehicle, the report states.

The deputy found about 54 pounds of marijuana and $1,100 in cash.

Scott Fretland, 32, and Wayne Lovel, 34, both of Eureka, Calif., face charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, the report states.
