Walmart has instituted a new policy that restricts how much gun ammunition customers may purchase.
The retail giant handed down a new policy for its stores Thursday outlining that each customer may only purchase three boxes of ammunition per day, said Ashley Hardie, spokeswoman for Walmart.
Hardie said the decision had nothing to do with recent calls nationwide for gun control and ammunition restriction.
Supply on ammunition is limited, and demand is high. Walmart added the restriction to increase the likelihood of each customer being able to the ammunition they want, Hardie said.
