RAZORBACK

It was a chance to prove they could win a game on the road, and the Arkansas basketball failed that test miserably Saturday afternoon. The Hogs lost at South Carolina 75-54 and dropped to 3-3 in the SEC. All three losses have come on the road.

The game started out promising. Arkansas got out to a 15-4 lead just a few minutes in. But South Carolina outscored the Hogs 40-11 in the final 15 minutes of the first half to take a 17 point lead into the intermission.

Arkansas made one single basket in a 13 minute span during that stretch.

“It was a tough day at the office today,” Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said.  “South Carolina did what they had to do.  We didn’t shoot well and didn’t rebound well and they were a little bit tougher.  You have to score on the road and you have to have good ball movement, and I thought that we settled for jump shots.”

Rebounding has been the issue for Arkansas all season long. South Carolina out rebounded them 36-26 and shot 57 percent front the floor, while the Hogs made only two three-pointers the whole game.

Arkansas returns to action at Alabama on Thursday.
