A 51-year-old Pocola man was found dead Sunday afternoon after a four-wheeler accident.

Pocola Police Chief Steve Howard said Terry Childers was found by family members about 24 hours after the accident, which Howard estimated happened between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Family members went looking for Childers when he did not return and found him at approximately 4:21 p.m. Sunday.

Howard said the four-wheeler flipped for an unknown reason and landed on Childers' lower chest and abdomen. Howard said it appears that Childers died immediately or soon after the accident.

The accident happened in a pasture near a fence line off Oliver Street, Howard said.

Childers' body was sent to the medical examiner's office in Tulsa but no foul play is suspected, Howard said.
