A Fayetteville man is behind bars after police say he attacked his pregnant ex-girlfriend, at one point threatening to “beat the baby out” of her.
Andrew Thomas was arrested Monday on suspicion of aggravated assault and domestic battery. Thomas remained Wednesday in the Washington County Detention Center without bond.
The alleged victim told police her Thomas, her ex-boyfriend, became drunk Monday morning and punched her in the face. He also choked her to the point that she almost blacked out, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Thomas then started punching the body of the woman, who is four months pregnant, she told detectives.
At one point, Thomas screamed at the alleged victim that he was going to beat the baby out of her because it was not his, according to the preliminary report.
The woman locked herself in a bedroom, and Thomas left.
Police later caught up to Thomas and arrested him.
