The Arkansas Razorbacks went down to the final seconds Thursday night only to lose another conference road game. The Hogs lost at Alabama 59-56, dropping them to 12-8 overall and 3-4 in the SEC. All four losses have come on the road.

The first half looked like it was the same story, different scene on the road. Alabama jumped out to a double-digit lead and led at the half 30-23.

However, to start the second it looked as if the Hogs’ road luck was finally going to change.

Arkansas took the lead 38-37 with 12 minutes to go, and from that point on the game went back and fourth. There were four different lead changes in those final minutes.

In the end it was a simple error in judgment that did the Hogs in.

Arkansas had the ball, down by three, with 16 seconds to go, but BJ Young opted for an easy two instead of going for the tie. That put the Hogs down one, but it wasn’t enough.

“I’m disappointed in the loss, but I loved the effort,” Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said. “I thought that our defense was better in the second half, it really disrupted their offense.  The game came down to the last second and we just couldn’t make the plays.”

BJ Young led Arkansas with 14 points. Marshawn Powell had 11.

The next game for the Hogs is at home, Saturday at 3:00pm against Tennessee.
