A traffic stop from an anonymous tip led Fayetteville officers to discover more than one pound of marijuana in two vehicles, along with several other drugs and a large amount of money, police say.

Benjamin Driver, Joshua Fair and William Littig, all of Fayetteville, were arrested Thursday on suspicion of several drug charges with intent to deliver. Driver and Littig remained Friday in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond each. Fair was released from jail Friday on $5,000 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Police observed a white minivan drive left of center on Wedington Drive and stopped the vehicle. Police and the local Drug Task Force had received an anonymous tip that the driver was involved in trafficking large amounts of marijuana and club drugs into Northwest Arkansas, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

An officer said he smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the van and initiated a search, which uncovered about 1.3 pounds of marijuana, 34 grams of mushrooms, four grams of methamphetamine, several jars of suspected mushrooms, several containers of suspected LSD, digital scales, prescription drugs and a large amount of cash, according to the preliminary report.

While one officer stopped the van, another police unit stopped a passenger car that was traveling in front of the van. A search of the vehicle uncovered a locked safe in the trunk that was full of marijuana residue, pay stubs and a large amount of cash, the report states.

The three suspects in the two cars were all arrested and transported to jail.
