A LeFlore County mom accused of child abuse entered a not guilty plea in court Monday. The woman’s boyfriend recorded her allegedly slapping a child on his cell phone camera.

Christina Hawkins, 26, is out of jail. She pleaded not guilty to a felony child abuse charge Monday. 5NEWS went to her mom’s house in Arkoma looking for Hawkins.

“She doesn't want to talk to nobody,” said a man at the home.

5NEWS asked the man if Hawkins was available. “She’s got a mental problem,” said the man. “I'm not letting her talk to nobody and the attorney said the same thing.”

The man told 5NEWS to contact Hawkins’ attorney Pat Pate in Poteau. Pate did not return our phone call.

Hawkins’ boyfriend, Rickey Griffith, 36, told investigators he recorded the video on his cell phone, according to court documents.

Investigators say Griffith recorded the video last fall, but never gave it to police. Griffith is charged with enabling child abuse and obstruction.

Hawkins is out of jail on a $20,000 bond. She is due back in court on March 12 at 9 a.m.
