From the moment you walk in, you’re transported to a time when arcades were a very popular form of entertainment. Mom and Dad remember this kind of fun. But for kids, a visit to Arkadia may be their first time in an arcade. Owner Shea Mathis says, it's about time!

"Basically that's where we are trying to create or recreate," Mathis said. "Which by my reckoning will be the first legitimate arcade that's been around here for 15 years."

Arkadia is located in the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center off College Avenue in the heart of Fayetteville.

Of course you'll see Pac-Man, but there's a long line of favorites you can play.

"Of course you can't miss the classics like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Centipede, Millipeed, Gallaga which is popular for people of all ages," she said.

And don't think the younger kids won't enjoy these games. No tokens are needed! Just five dollars gets you in, and you can stay all day.

"We are reintroducing to the kids of today a gaming format and experience in a safe family friendly setting. There gaming experience is now a social one, that's what has been missing since all of the arcades shut down many years ago."

Arkadia also features a private room perfect for birthday parties.
