Fort Smith police are looking for a black woman accused of stealing from two senior citizens at an assisted living center.

On Feb. 8 two residents of Butterfield Assisted Living Center on Phoenix Avenue reported cash and credit cards were stolen from their apartment while they ate lunch in the facility’s dining hall.

Shortly after the theft, the suspect purchased $4,000 worth of gift cards at Target on Phoenix Avenue. Fraudulent charges were also made with the victims’ credit cards at Home Depot in Fort Smith, Sonic in Springdale, Target in Fayetteville and a Shell gas station in Roland, Okla., according to police.

Surveillance video captured images of the woman police believe is a suspect. She may be driving a white SUV, the police report states.
