A Fort Smith woman was arrested in Fayetteville Friday morning (Feb. 15) after police found 10 pounds of marijuana in her vehicle.

Phanomphone Lakhiaminh, 52, is facing a charge of possession with intent to deliver, according to Fayetteville Police.

An officer stopped Lakhiaminh in a black Lexus SUV near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Interstate 540 for careless driving. During the stop, the officer became suspicious of her nervous behavior, a police report states. The woman gave consent for the officers to search the vehicle.

They found the pot in separate sealed packages hidden in a thin blue sleeping bag which was placed inside a plastic comforter bag.

Lakhiaminh was taken to the Washington County Jail.
