The University of Arkansas in Fort Smith has announced the school is canceling classes Thursday because of winter weather.
Sebastian County, along with other nearby counties, is under a Winter Storm Warning at least until noon Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
The university sent a statement out Wednesday night:
The University of Arkansas – Fort Smith campus will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 21, due to inclement weather, with both day and night classes cancelled.
All campus services and any events scheduled for the campus will not be held on this date, according to Darrell Morrison, vice chancellor for finance and administration
Morrison said the campus will resume a normal schedule on Friday.
