Hogs Take Down Evansville

Hogs get production from all parts of lineup in series opening win.

The starting pitching might not have been there at the start Friday for Arkansas but the hitting sure was.

Arkansas got three runs batted in from three different players as it took down Evansville 10-4 at Baum Stadium.

Jordan Farris hit his first career home run for Arkansas, a three run shot in the seventh, while both Tyler Spoon and Jake Wise each turned the trick. Wise added a two run home run in the bottom of the second.

Brandon Moore picked up the win in relief as he pitched three and 2/3 innings after starter Ryne Stanek did not come out for the fourth inning. Stanek threw 76 pitches through the first three innings.

Spoon has eight RBI in the last four games and has recorded at least one hit in each of Arkansas' six games this season.

Game two of the three game series is Saturday at 1:05 p.m.
