An Elkins man is accused of making methamphetamine in a McDonalds parking lot.
Anthony Stobaugh was arrested Feb. 26 by narcotics detectives with the Benton County Sheriff on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia to manufacture methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest stems from a two-week long investigation, according to Capt. Brandon Rogers.
Investigators believe Stobaugh was making meth in a parked vehicle at the McDonald’s on Interstate 540 and Hwy 264 on Feb. 26.
Stobaugh was found with items used to make meth inside his vehicle and an active drug lab in the rear cargo area of the vehicle.
A portion of the McDonalds Parking lot had to be roped off for a couple of hours while detectives disposed of the drug lab and paraphernalia, Rogers said.
