A Fayetteville woman who appeared on the MTV show “Catfish” has a May 1 trial date in Fayetteville District court, records show.

Sunny Cross, 22, was arrested on misdemeanor suspicion of driving while intoxicated in January and booked into the Washington County Detention Center, according to arrest reports.

She was released on $1,055 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department website. Cross appeared on “Catfish” in November 2012 during which it was revealed she had an online relationship with a person who turned out to be a woman instead of a man as she had believed.

A preliminary police report states an officer observed a maroon passenger car following another car too closely on Gregg Street at approximately 2:40 a.m. The officer said he noticed the car cross the double yellow middle line so he pulled the car over, the report said.

The driver, identified as Cross, failed a field sobriety test and had red, watery eyes and smelled of alochol, the report states. She registered .08 blood-alcohol content on a breathalyzer at the detention center at approximately 3:39 a.m., according to the report.

The Sheriff’s Department website states Cross also faces traffic charges of driving left of center and following too closely.
