After a four-game losing streak on the road, the Arkansas baseball team is back in the winner’s column. The Diamond Hogs beat San Diego State 2-0 Thursday night at Baum Stadium.

Colin Poché, Brandon Moore and Barrett Astin combined on the six-hit shutout. Astin recorded the save, the 15th of his career. That puts him second place on the school’s all-time list.

Arkansas only had three hits all game, but made those at-bats count. They scored the only two runs of the ball game in the bottom of the third inning.

Brian Anderson, Jacob Mahan and Tyler Spoon each had a hit for the Hogs. Anderson drove in a RBI, while Mahan and Brett McAfee each scored a run. Spoon extended his hitting streak to 13 games with his first inning single.

San Diego State had chances to score in the game, but the Razorbacks used a season-high four double plays to keep the Aztecs off the scoreboard.

Arkansas improves to 8-5 and will host San Diego State again tomorrow for a 3:05 start.
