Looking at the records, it was suppose to be a blow out.

It was, just not in the way many people expected.

The Greenland Lady Pirates won a second straight State Championship with a win over Jessieville 59-32 Thursday at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock.

The Lady Pirates came in the under dogs, finishing the regular season just 11-13 overall, but made an undefeated run in the post season. Jessieville went into the title game with a 33-0 record.

Greenland got down 6-0 early but then used a huge run to pull away in the first half, scoring all 12 first quarter points on three pointers and adding two more to start the third quarter. Greenland had the game in hand by the end of the third, leading 44-23.

Kiana Thompson was named the MVP. Morgan Miller led all scorers with 14 points.
