The Prairie Grove Lady Tigers Eye State Crown

The Prairie Grove Lady Tigers are heading to Little Rock to try and win the 4A State Championship.

The Prairie Grove Lady Tigers are on a mission to win a State Championship.   After tearing through the state tournament last week they are ready to head to Little Rock and claim the State Crown.

"It was an accomplishment because nobody thought we could do it," said Senior Justyne Huber.  "We made the town and Coach Fraud proud by going out there and winning."

"It felt pretty great," said Senior Whitnee Fitts.  "As soon as we got to the fourth quarter and they started fouling, I knew we were going to win it."

The win was extra special because at the beginning of the season no one thought the girls would be able to win it all.  They faced a lot of adversity from their starting point quitting to key contributors getting injured.  Despite it all they were able to pull together as a team and win when it mattered most.

"It was a joy for these girls because all the hard work and effort they put in," said Head Coach Kevin Froud.  "They were able to overcome injuries and adversity and win 29 games. It is a pleasure and a joy to coach these girls."

The team has not lost a game since December 28th.  They have won 20 straight games and are looking for win number 21 as they head to Little Rock.

"We have to make sure we give all of our effort until the very last horn," said Fitts.  "We need to play defense and rebound so we can keep it going."

"It would mean everything because we have been through so much together," said Huber.   "We have been together since 7th grade. It would be a good way to go out."

The team will pack up the bus and head to Little Rock on Friday in preparation for their game Saturday at 11:00am.
