The Northside Lady Bears have stunned their rival once again. This time it meant even more to both teams.

Northside beat Southside 51-46 in overtime to win the 7A Girls State Championship at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock Friday night.

Bria Caldwell was named the Finals MVP.

The seniors for Northside go out 9-0 against their biggest rival and it was all thanks to a second half come back.

Southside led for most of the game and got up by as many as 11 points in the first half, but Northside cut into that margin and took it’s first lead 39-37 early in the fourth quarter.

Tied at 42-42, Northside had a chance to win it late in the fourth, but could not capitalize.

Northside redeemed itself in the extra frame with clutch baskets and free throw shooting down the stretch.

This is their first State Championship since 2007 and the sixth overall.
