Prairie Grove Lady Tigers Fall to Malvern in State Final

The Prairie Grove Lady Tigers suffered a heartbreaking 33-32 loss to Malvern.  It was the team’s first loss since December 28, 2012.

It was a back and forth battle the entire game with eight different lead changes. Prairie Grove lead by one with 17 seconds left in the game.  Malvern was able to get a basket and take a 33-32 lead with 3.7 seconds remaining. The ensuing inbound pass by the Lady Tigers was intercepted and Malvern went on to claim the 4A Championship.

Malvern’s Shakara Penix led all scorers with 15 points.  Lacey Beeks lead the way for Prairie Grove with 13 points of her own.
