Area’s top 10 girls players earn postseason honors.

Most conversations of girls basketball in Arkansas start with Northside and the All 5NEWS Team is no different.

Bria Caldwell helped the Lady Bears win the 7A state championship and led the team in scoring on her way to picking up the state tournament MVP award.

Justyne Huber led Prairie Grove reach the 4A state championship game during her senior season while averaging 15 points and nine rebounds. The Lady Tigers won 84 games over the past three seasons.

Greenwood’s Lundon Williams guided the Lady Bulldogs to the semifinals in the school’s first year in class 6A. Greenwood faced teams that were in the state championship game 10 times in 2012-13.

Morgan Miller helped Greenland repeat as 3A champions and scored a team high 14 points in the mercy rule win against Jessieville.

Calli White carried Southside on her back all season long and she got the Lady Rebels just inches away from the 7A state championship.

Rogers forward Taylor Strickland capped off a dominant three year run for the Lady Mounties in which she set the school’s all-time scoring record.

Olivia Hanson was among the leaders in nearly every statistical category for Northside as she helped the Lady Bears win its sixth state championship.

Maddy Backus was the driving force behind Mountainburg run this season. She led the team in points, steals and assists as the Lady Dragons won 27 of 32 games.

Har-Ber’s Caylee Wright made big plays down the stretch for the Lady Wildcats and led her team within six points of reaching the 7A title game.

Julia Garrard dominated the paint for Bentonville and helped the Lady Tigers win their conference for the first time since moving into the state’s largest classification.
