Friday afternoon the Walker Pavilion was flooded with NFL Scouts watching former Arkansas football players and current NFL prospects put their skills to the test at Pro Day.
For players like Knile Davis, Tyler Wilson, Cobi Hamiliton and Chris Gragg, Friday's Pro Day was a chance to add to their draft stock and build on their performance at the NFL Scouting Combine. For the other 20 plus players in attendance it was their first and maybe only time to show scouts what they have.
"Not getting invited to the combine is just extra motivation for me," safety Ross Rasner said. "It's about me going out there and proving the naysayers wrong. There will always be people doubting you, but it's just my motivation everyday."
Pro Day is something many of these athletes have dreamed about since they were young.
"For me I was six years old in Louisiana and I wanted to grow up and play football in high school, then college and have a shot at the NFL someday," defensive tackle Alfred Davis said. "Today I had a chance to show my talents."
"I went to bed last night and I was rolling around I could barely sleep," Rasner said. "This is a day, while it won't make or break you, it will get your foot in the door. I've been looking forward to this day for a long time."
The day is filled with tons of pressure, but for running back Dennis Johnson he made it a point to enjoy this special day.
"It's fun," Johnson said. "You just come out here and let everything out. This is something you want to do, its fun, you just come out here and have fun that's basically what it is."
With Pro Day in the books, the athletes will continue to train and wait to see if they get drafted or picked up by a team as a free agent.
