A Northwest Arkansas man facing two charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of his infant sons is scheduled to be arraigned later this month, according to court records.

Travis Fox is set to appear April 24 at an arraignment to hear the charges against him and to enter a plea. Defendants are required at arraignments to enter not-guilty pleas, allowing their case to proceed to Circuit Court. Fox is being held without bond in the Washington County Detention Center.

Fox admitted to shaking his seven-month-old son, William, to death, according to arrest records. This comes after Travis Fox II died in 2011 the same way, officials said.

Fox confessed to officers he shook both babies after he had been drinking, according to court documents.

Fox also faces a charge of probation violation.

According to court documents, Fox was sentenced to five years probation in 2009 after pleading guilty to residential burglary and other theft-related charges.

Friends say they are shocked someone so close to them is accused of killing his sons.

"Just, poor babies, and I don't understand how he could do it. I know he admitted it, but still (it's) hard to actually think of him because he wasn't like that. My kids picked on him and played around with him, and he never got mad," Angela Robinson said
