Police Search For Vehicle That Hit Fayetteville Child

A child sustained minor injuries Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a sports utility vehicle in Fayetteville, police say.

Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of a hit-and-run car accident involving a child near Asbell Elementary School at 4 p.m., according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

Medical crews treated and released the child at the scene, according to police. Police said they are not releasing the child's name or age at this time.

Police are searching for a two-toned Chevrolet Blazer sports utility vehicle that they said struck the child and drove off.
