A Johnson man is behind bars after police say he rammed his car into his wife’s truck following an argument. He also spit on a responding officer, according to police.

Francisco Palacios, 41, was arrested Monday on suspicion of domestic aggravated assault and aggravated assault on a police officer. He remained Monday night in the Washington County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Palacios got into an argument with his wife Monday afternoon, and she left in her pickup truck. Palacios followed her in his Honda Accord car and rammed her truck three times, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Palacios then pulled out in front of his wife’s pickup truck and slammed on the breaks, causing her to crash into the rear of his car, the report states. Police said Palacios also threw items at his wife’s tailgate, denting it.

The suspect was located in Johnson and taken into custody. He later spit on an officer who was transporting him, according to the preliminary report.
