A Van Buren factory is expanding.

Dillmeier Glass Company is adding 15,000 square feet to its factory in the Van Buren Industrial Park. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday (March 26).

The company doubled the number of employees since moving to the Van Buren location in 2006, according to company owner David Dillmeier.

The company now has 60 full-time and 40 part-time workers. Dillmeier hopes the expansion will lead to more full time jobs.

“Our philosophy at Dillmeier is to bring people in part time, see how things go, hopefully we have the work for them and continue to carry them as a full time employee,” he said. “So, since 2006 we've been able to double the amount of employees and we're very proud of that.”

Dillmeier says his company has doubled sales during the past six years. In addition to the expansion, they plan to add new equipment including an overhead crane.

The factory fabricates glass for retail store fixtures, office space and other businesses and architectural applications.
