No more excuses about not having enough time to exercise. You can get it done in less than 10 minutes.

This 5NEWS Fit Heather Lewis heads to Marvin Altman Fitness Center in Fort Smith, and she recruited a little help. Meteorologist Joe Pennington laces up his shoes to learn a fast, effective workout you can do on your lunch break.

Did you know you can get a full upper and lower body workout in just six minutes? Personal trainer Bob Harper shows Heather and Joe how it’s done.

"You're going to do a certain exercise for 30 seconds,” said Harper. “You're going to get 10 seconds of rest. We're going to do those series of nine exercises."

Depending on your fitness level, Harper says to perform two to four sets. As your fitness level increases, increase the time of your exercise move up to one minute and rest for 15 seconds.

Six Minute Circuit Training:

  1. Side to Side Jumps
  2. Push Ups
  3. Side Step Ups
  4. Toe Touch
  5. Squat Thrusts
  6. Assisted Chin Ups or Negative
  7. Squats
  8. Inverted Row
  9. Low Back Superman

During your 10 second rest, you can also jog. Six minute circuit training is just one of many exercise plans fitness instructors have at the gym.

"First, they need to find some staff and get some help," said Harper.

When you get tired of your routine, don’t give up on the gym. Harper says there are staff members standing by and ready to help at Marvin Altman.
