A traffic stop leads to a drug bust in Greenwood.
Grant Cacy, 28, of Greenwood, was taken into custody for an outstanding warrant and for suspected possession of methamphetamine after a crystal-like substance was found in his vehicle Tuesday (March 26), according to police.
“Patrolman Wisner from Greenwood P.D. caught the suspect moving yesterday and pulled him over,” explained Investigator Jerry Foley with the 12th Judicial Drug Task Force. “When he made contact with him about the warrant the suspect got out of the vehicle and methamphetamine fell out of his lap.”
A search warrant was later executed at his home in the 100 block of Grand Magnolia.
“During the search a [$37,000 in] cash, numerous prescription narcotics, methamphetamine paraphernalia and equipment to manufacture marijuana was found,” Foley said.
Cacy could be connected to a major drug dealing operation in the River Valley according to investigators.
“This guy right here from what we understand was one of the main people that was selling in the Greenwood area,” Foley said. “He had steroids, methamphetamine, numerous varieties of pills. We have methadone. We have morphine. We have oxycodone, roxicodone and muscle relaxers.”
Cacy is being held in the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center on more than a dozen drug charges, including Possession of Meth with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Grow/Harvest Marijuana and Maintaining Premises for Drug Sales.
His bond was set at $53,050, according to police.
