A Springdale man was killed Sunday (March 31) after his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole, according to police.
The accident happened around 1:42 p.m. on Borrick Drive near Armstrong Avenue in Fayetteville.
James McQuilliam, 46, was westbound on Borrick Drive at a high rate of speed, when his 2006 Chevy Malibu hit a body of standing water in the roadway, according to a police report. The vehicle hit the utility pole on the north side of the road.
Police say McQuilliam was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
