Play Ball! Naturals Gear Up for Season Opener

It's the day baseball fans have been waiting for, opening day for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

The Naturals take on the Midland Rockhounds during the season opener Thursday (April 4) at 6:20 p.m.

A lot will be going on out at Arvest Ballpark before the game including food, tailgating, thousands of fans, special guests, autograph opportunity and even a helicopter!

At 6 p.m. a helicopter is set to land on the field and Benjamin 'Coach' Wade from Survivor will throw the first pitch.

The first 2,500 fans to enter the ballpark will get a free 2013 season schedule magnet.

Before the game, the players will honor the lives lost in December's attack on Sandy Hook Elementary.

"Community Hero Nominees," who are chosen first responders and teachers, will walk the players onto the field before the national anthem.

The George Junior High School choir from Springdale will sing our nation's anthem.

Gates at Arvest Ballpark open at 5 p.m. and the game starts at 6:20 p.m.
