Drivers ran into multiple problems Friday as they made their way out for their morning commute.  Around 8 a.m. Friday, a horse trailer was involved in an accident on Interstate 540 southbound near the Wagon Wheel exit.  The accident left multiple horses grazing in the interstate median, but was quickly cleared.

Meanwhile, around the same time, crews responded to another accident on the northbound lane of I-540 near the Elm Springs exit.  No injuries were reported in either of those accidents.  While both have been cleared, the accidents continue to cause a traffic headache for drivers on their Friday morning commute.

In the River Valley, dispatchers with the Fort Smith Police Department said multiple cars were involved in an accident at the intersection of Wheeler and Fresno, causing delays for drivers during rush hour traffic around 8 a.m.

Dispatchers say EMS responded scene at that accident, but the severity of the injuries from that crash was not immediately available.   That accident has been cleared and traffic in Fort Smith is now moving smoothly.
