ROGERS (KFSM) – Four Benton County men face felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia after being arrested by the Benton County Special Operation Division Gang Unit on Saturday morning.
A fifth man was taken in custody and found to have felony warrants, officers said.
Omar G. Martinez, Ronald Carranza, Hector Vega Torres and Omar Martinez was booked in the Benton County Detention Center on Saturday. Omar G. Martinez, 21, has a bond of $3,500, while Carranza, 22, and Vega-Torres, 18, have bonds of $2,500, according to the Sheriff’s Department’s website.
Omar Martinez, 18, has a $1,000 bond. All four men face felony charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor charges of carrying prohibited weapons and loitering.
Jackey Bohanon, 34, had a $10,000 bond after officers said they found multiple felony warrants for delivery of a controlled substance.
The Benton County Sheriff’s department said in a release that a sergeant with the Gang Unit saw a vehicle stopped at the Razorbacks Inn on the 2900 block of West Walnut Avenue in Rogers at approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The deputy said the driver had a bandana covering the bottom half of his face and he recognized a passenger in the rear seat as a known gang member, the statement said.
The sergeant, with Rogers police as backup, approached the vehicle and smelled alcohol and burnt marijuana, the statement said. Three of the four men – identified as Omar G. Martinez, Carranza and Vega Torres – were known gang members, the sheriff’s department said in the statement.
The statement said officers found a set of digital scales with drug residue, marijuana-smoking devices, as well as a sledgehammer, baseball bat and tire iron. The men were wearing black shirts with the gang “WBS” written on it and the men’s street names, the statement said.
The car was packed outside of a hotel room and officers found three people inside, including Bohanon hiding in the bathroom, the statement said. The other two people were released without charges, the statement said, but officers found the multiple warrants out on Bohanon.
