Driver Taken to Hospital After Rollover Accident

A driver was pinned after single car rollover accident on Zero in Fort Smith Wednesday afternoon (April 17).

Police responded to the 7500 block of Zero near Ben Geren Park around 3:35 p.m.

The driver was conscious but injured, according to witnesses. Firefighters and EMS responded and used the jaws of life to help remove the man from his truck.

"According to witnesses, he was driving westbound on Zero and just all of the sudden lost control of his vehicle," said Capt. Phil Christensen with Fort Smith Fire.

"He was awake and talking to us," Christensen said. "He was telling us where he hurt the most as we pulled him out."

The driver was taken to a local hospital. No word yet on the extent of his injuries.

Traffic was backed up in the area while crews cleared the accident.
