Fant Fans Texas A&M

Hogs left-hander strikes out career high eight in series clinching win.

Randall Fant was almost masterful Sunday in the rubber game against Texas A&M.

The Arkansas left-hander struck out a career high eight batters as the Razorbacks snuck past the Aggies for a 2-1 win at Baum Stadium.

Arkansas (27-15, 11-7 SEC) took two of three in the series after losing the opener Friday night. The back-to-back wins also helped snap a four game losing streak.

Fant allowed one run, a solo home run to Troy Stein, and gave up just two hits while walking three in six innings of work. The Arkansas defense turned several key double plays in the late innings to avoid another late inning collapse.

Brian Anderson gave Arkansas a 1-0 lead in the first inning with a RBI single that drove in Tyler Spoon. Anderson then drove in the game winning run in the third as his sacrifice fly brought home Brett McAfee.

Arkansas will host No. 13 Oklahoma Tuesday night at 6:35 pm.
