Three people were arrested on drug and weapons charges near Greenwood Tuesday (April 30) after Sebastian County deputies discovered large amounts of marijuana.

Donald Norman, 56, Diana Norman, 44, and Richard Willis, 42, were arrested on felony charges of possession of marijuana with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining premises for narcotic sales, and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

Willis was also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Deputies received a tip that the three might be selling marijuana from a residence in the 4200 block Whattahill Road near Greenwood after authorities in Oklahoma made a traffic stop in which a large amount of cash was found.

"As they began to investigate the cash that was in the car they actually discovered that they had been here in Sebastian County and they began to tell how they had left some marijuana at this residence," Sebastian County Investigator Philip Pevehouse explained.  "Part of that cash at least was from the proceeds from that."

Deputies, along with officers with the 12th/21st Drug Task Force, and other agencies went to the home and found 40 pounds of compressed marijuana and 13 firearms.

"This is going to be used for distribution," Sebastian County Investigator Philip Pevehouse explained. "You can see that from how things are broken up."

There were also several packages of pot in a wheelbarrow on the front porch of the home, according to deputies.

All three were booked into the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center.
