Police Find Money from Bank Robbery at Suspect’s Home

Fort Smith Police found a large amount of cash hidden inside a storage building at the residence of a Spiro man suspected in a bank robbery.

The money found at Kelley Kincaid’s home is approximately half of the total amount taken during the May 3 robbery at First National Bank.

The 66-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony robbery Monday and booked into LeFlore County, Okla., Detention Center on $50,000 bond.

He has since waived extradition and will soon be brought to the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.

Fort Smith police responded to information implicating Kincaid and forwarded the information to criminal investigators. Kincaid was later arrested by investigators acting on the information, according to Fort Smith police.

Kincaid was located in Spiro at the time of his arrest. Search warrants were executed on his house and the truck believed to have been used in the robbery.

The suspect allegedly walked into the bank just before 6 p.m. carrying a sack in his hand and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied, police said. Authorities have not released how much money was taken.

Police do not believe the man had a weapon.

The Fort Smith Police Department circulated photographs taken from surveillance video during the robbery that they hoped would help lead to identifying the suspect.

Kincaid has no criminal history, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
