As rain started falling in Northwest Arkansas late Thursday afternoon, several car wrecks and at least one injury kept local authorities busy and some traffic stuck.

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for southern Benton County, northern Washington County and northern Madison County on Thursday night at 7:33 p.m., according to the National Weather Service website. The flood advisory is set to expire at 12:30 a.m.

Emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash on West Sunset Avenue in Springdale early Thursday night in reference to a woman that had hit her head. Traffic along the U.S. highway was blocked as ambulance crews transported the patient to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Springdale Fire Department.

Several streets in Springdale closed, including Highway 71B at the railroad underpass, Maple Avenue west of 71B and Ash Street from Maple to south of Murphy Park, according to Springdale police. All streets re-opened within a few hours.
