$120 Egg Sandwich

Would you pay $120 for an breakfast sandwich?

To be fair, it’s not designed to be eaten at breakfast, but it is an egg sandwich. And yes, it will put you back more than $100 a pop. What makes this little thing so special?

It’s all part of Bacon Week 2013 in Sydney Australia. The Huffington Post reports the sandwich was created by chef Carla Jones of restaurant 4Fourteen and will only be on the menu for a week.

I know, you’re dying to know what’s on it, right?

  • Bacon
  • Smoked tomatoes
  • English cheddar
  • Handmade brioche bun
  • pan-fried duck egg
  • foie gras
  • caviar
  • creme fraiche
  • shaved truffles
  • served with a side of chips with a shaved truffle aioli

Even more over the top creations might be coming out. Australian Pork Limited–who is sponsoring Bacon Week 2013–is encouraging other Australian chefs to “top that.”
