One Rogers family escaped injury Monday (May 20) when a tree fell onto their house but missed the room they were in.

Marilyn Pickrel, who lives with her family in the Whispering Timbers neighborhood, said she was lucky to have escaped and knew the storm was coming, so took shelter with her family.

In the neighborhood, debris littered roadways, and several homes, including the Pickrel’s, were without power.

“We are just so lucky and happy to be alive, despite the terrible tornado in Oklahoma,' Pickrel told 5NEWS.
