Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe released a statement Tuesday (May 21) on the deadly tornadoes in Moore, Oklahoma.

A governor spokesperson says Beebe spoke with Oklahoma’s Governor Mary Fallin Monday night, offering Arkansas’ assistance.

“This kind of tragedy strikes deep into the hearts of Arkansans, as many of us have seen our communities cope with the painful losses these violent storms can bring. However, few of us can even imagine the wrenching scale of loss and devastation currently being experienced in Moore, Oklahoma. Arkansas’s thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has suffered the loss of loved ones and livelihood in Moore, and with the responders and volunteers who face difficult work in the coming days.”
