Residents in Poteau, Okla. are cleaning up after a possible tornado hit Monday evening (May 20).

Residents in Poteau, Okla. are cleaning up after a possible tornado hit Monday evening (May 20).

The storm was strong enough to rip the roof off an auto parts store and move it to a building next door on Rogers street.

As winds moved through glass from buildings downtown were shattered leaving glass on sidewalks and roads in downtown Poteau.  Many trees were uprooted and several homes had roof damage.

A mobile home was also knocked over on its side in Cameron, Okla. Monday night.  The homeowner said they were leaving for safer ground when the home was lifted up into the air.  They told 5NEWS they were lucky that they left when they did.

The National Weather Service has not said how severe the winds from the storm were at the time.  The storm was a part of the same system that left nearly a hundred dead in Moore, Oklahoma Monday afternoon.
