The National Weather Service has confirmed this week that at least four tornadoes touched down in the Northwest Arkansas and River Valley areas during Monday's severe weather.

The National Weather Service's survey of storm damage from Monday continued Thursday, as representatives confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down just north of  Siloam Springs.

The tornado may be upgraded to an EF-1 after further analysis, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service also confirmed a separate EF-1 tornado just south of Siloam Springs, in northwest Washington County, while team members were surveying storm damage Wednesday. The tornado started in Oklahoma, and crossed over into Washington County near Cincinnati.

The tornado confirmed Thursday in north Siloam Springs is the third declared by the National Weather Service in Northwest Arkansas since the weather service began surveying storm damage in the area this week.

A survey of Rocky Branch, just east of Rogers, on Wednesday revealed a tornado hit the area near Beaver Lake.

Steve Piltz with the National Weather Service surveyed Rocky Branch and said early estimates show the tornado could have been a mile long.

“We looked for trees that were pointing towards each other the way they fell and we saw some of that there,” Piltz said. “There were oak trees that were snapped, so it all kind of fit together and we were confident we had a tornado.”

The tornado in northwest Washington County spun off from a trio of tornadoes in Adair County, Okla. One of the tornadoes crossed the Oklahoma-Arkansas line and into Washington County, just south of Siloam Springs, said Ed Calianese with the National Weather Service’s Tulsa office.

The Washington County tornado damaged trees and barns in the mostly rural area, Calianese said.

Another team confirmed Wednesday that an EF-0 tornado struck LeFlore County, Okla., during Monday’s storms.
