Arkansas Routs Bryant; Hogs Face Kansas State Tonight

Arkansas gets payback for opening round loss to Bulldogs.
Joe Serrano

There is little time for Arkansas to celebrate their 12-3 win against Bryant in the Manhattan regional. The Razorbacks now must get back on the field less than two hours after the win and face host Kansas State.

Arkansas wasted little time getting revenge from Friday’s opening round loss to the Bulldogs. The Razorbacks scored three runs in the top of the first and never looked back.

The Razorbacks managed just four hits on Friday but pounded out 13 hits in Sunday’s blowout win. Joe Serrano led the way with three hits and was one of three Hogs to score twice. Jacob Mahan and Brett McAffe both drove in three runs while Tyler Spoon added two RBI.

Randall Fant picked up his sixth win of the season as he went five 2/3 innings while striking out three and allowed a pair of runs.

Arkansas (2-1) will face Kansas State (2-0) tonight at 7:05. An Arkansas win would set up a winner take all game tomorrow. A Wildcats win would send the host school to the super regional.

Kansas State has scored a combined 27 runs in their two regional wins. Arkansas has scored 16 in three games.
